Maracuya’s modern responsive, multilingual user interface design works on all sizes of devices, from a smartphone all the way to a large screen trading workstation. The system is a multi-tiered, object-oriented design with a relational database backing store. The front end is powered by the AngularJS framework. Business logic is written in C# using Microsoft .NET with the latest Entity Framework accessing a SQL Server database.
The system is highly multithreaded and segregates related functionality to specific server processes, distributed over multiple physical and virtual machines, each of which communicates with the others using a high-performance, high-reliability messaging protocol.
Maracuya hosts the application at its dedicated data center. We use VMWare ESXi with virtual machines for our servers. Our redundant data center is connected by a private leased fiber optic connection and provides backups and replicated disaster recovery services.
